Flogging Molly Concert.

Fri Sep 18, 2009, 6:02 PM
Well I saw Flogging Molly([link]) in concert yesterday at Mary Moor park Redmond Washington(state not DC DC IS DC NOT WASHINGTON).(9-17-09) It was FREAKING spectacular!
There were 2 opening bands. The first was Fitz & The Tantrums.([link]) This consisted of a singer, keyboardist, saxophone player, drummer, bassist, tambourine player(who also did backup singing). They have quite the style! and I have to say i loved them and hope to see them grow. They currently have 1 album with 5 songs on it they played them all at the concert and i gota say the style is SO GOOD! Everything pops because their is no lead guitar and it doesn't need one at all! If you don't believe me listen to em! Unfortunately because they aren't really known the crowed didn't react how i would have liked but they were great.
The next opener was Hepcat([link]) they were a kind of reggae/ska music style. Lots of harmony very danceable grooves. They got the crowed a little more into it and I'm sure as hell glad the crowed did the place needed a little more energy. This was quite the fun band they liked to perform a little for the crowed and seemed to be fun goofy people. I can't give you the names of what they played but they played around 5 songs maybe 6 all of which were at least 3 minutes in length each. Then after a 30 minute setup time after Hepcat Flogging Molly finally took the stage! The crowed was pretty anxious by then and i was right along with them hoping for them to get the place pumping. And needless to say when they took the stage their was an eruption of cheers. Flogging Molly played most of their most known songs and some songs never before played live! The crowed had SO MUCH ENERGY everyone stood through out the 1 hour and 30 minutes they played. If you sat down you couldn't see period!
The songs, that i remember know the titles of, Flogging Molly played are listed below
Drunken Lullabies
If I Ever Leave This World Alive
Rebels of The Sacred Heart
Swagger
The Sun Never Shines on Closed Doors
The Worst Day Since Yesterday
Every Dog Has His Day
Devil's Dance Floor
Seven Deadly Sins
and more!
The entire event lasted from 6:30pm when Fitz & the tantrums got on stage and played for a good 30 minutes. Till 10:00pm when Flogging Molly played the second song of their encore.
At around 6:30 Fitz & the tantrums played for 30 minutes
Around 7:15 Hepcat played for another 30 minutes
Around 8:15 Flogging Molly played till the end of the concert.
This was a spectacular event with beautiful weather semi cloudy/semi clear skies with stars showing at the end. No wind chill no rain just perfect for an out door concert.
